Canal Insurance Company, headquartered in Greenville, SC, has specialized in providing insurance to commercial trucking operations through selected professional general agents for more than 70 years. Canal decided to deploy a new claims system to provide more powerful tools to its claims personnel and enhance its service to policyholders and claimants. Canal selected Guidewire ClaimCenter to support the physical damage, liability, cargo, and general liability lines of business. Canal integrated ClaimCenter with multiple external systems, including policy and accounting systems.
Following its successful ClaimCenter deployment, Canal selected Guidewire BillingCenter to replace the company’s existing legacy billing environment and give Canal more billing flexibility and receivables processing capabilities within a single system.
With BillingCenter, Canal Insurance gains the flexibility to give general agents access to billing information, helping them maintain customer touch points. BillingCenter also helps Canal to expand into other markets, enhance its financial and stat reporting capabilities, and protect customer privacy with role-based permissions.
