The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Selects Guidewire ClaimCenter

Guidewire's ClaimCenter® Chosen to Enable Ohio Casualty's Streamlined Claims Process and Enhanced Services
FAIRFIELD OH and SAN MATEO Calif., December 14, 2006

The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company (Ohio Casualty), headquartered in Fairfield, OH, and Guidewire Software®, a leading provider of solutions to property and casualty insurers, today announced that Ohio Casualty has selected Guidewire's industry leading ClaimCenter system. Guidewire ClaimCenter will support Ohio Casualty's end-to-end claims process for personal and commercial lines of business and will replace the company's existing claims system through a phased deployment over the next 20 to 36 months.

Ohio Casualty researched available claims systems on the market and selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as the best fit to meet both the company's claims processing and technology requirements. Guidewire ClaimCenter was selected for its ease-of-use, configurability, workflow functionality, fit with Ohio Casualty's technology direction, and the system's flexibility.

"Guidewire's technology was a very good match to Ohio Casualty's core architectural principles. Guidewire's configuration and scalability capabilities are in-line with our existing architectures for policy processing; we're confident we'll have a very smooth installation with their experienced implementation team." said Ohio Casualty's chief technology officer John Kellington.

With ClaimCenter, Ohio Casualty's claims department will gain a modern technology foundation with which to streamline its claim processes and deliver enhanced service to its agents and policyholders. ClaimCenter will enable Ohio Casualty to:

  • Streamline and reduce IT maintenance efforts by moving to a single claims system, companywide;

  • Reduce training times and increase productivity through system driven claims handling workflows;

  • Access real-time comprehensive data for greater visibility and insight into claims processes and operating costs; and

  • Maintain claims adjusting excellence while continuing to enhance claims operational efficiencies.

"We did a thorough evaluation of our claim system replacement options prior to selecting Guidewire ClaimCenter," said Ohio Casualty claims senior vice president Ralph G. Goode. "We chose ClaimCenter due to all that the system offered us - a streamlined claims process, more flexibility in our approach to our claims handling, and improved process efficiencies."

Guidewire ClaimCenter is a leading end-to-end claims system for property & casualty insurance. ClaimCenter's flexible business rules enable claims organizations to optimize and monitor the claim process. Claims executives can define, enforce, and continually refine their preferred claim handling practices. In addition, a modern technology architecture, providing 100% Web client, and Web services interface enable lower total cost of ownership in any environment.

"Ohio Casualty is a very technology savvy company that recognizes the benefits in moving to a modern claims system." said Jeff Simpson, chairman and chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "We thank Ohio Casualty for selecting ClaimCenter and we are pleased to welcome them to the Guidewire client family."
