The Qusar Protocol: Rise of the AI Agents

Near the town of Qusar in Azerbaijan sits Shahdag, the country’s first ski resort. Skiers with different roles and ambitions ride the same lifts to the top, whether they are exploring their first runs, perfecting freestyle tricks, or venturing into backcountry terrain. From there, each chooses the experience designed for their purpose, ensuring nobody ends up on terrain that does not fit their needs. That same philosophy guides our Qusar release. We are delivering capabilities tailored to specific roles across your insurance operations, with a strong emphasis on specialized AI agents.

You can design custom agents directly on Guidewire Cloud or choose pre-built options, both running natively inside your existing operational platform.

For Builders and Developers Everywhere

The centerpiece of this release is the Agentic Framework. It gives developers and AI builders a secure, model-agnostic harness to design, run, and govern production-grade AI agents with built-in observability and data protection. Because these agents connect directly into the Guidewire core system, they maintain context across every transaction.

Qusar also introduces Guidewire Developer and Builder Assistants that understand the Guidewire code base, programming languages, design patterns, and configurations. For application development, Developer Assistants streamline work across Gosu (Java-compatible Guidewire programming language), Integrations, Jutro (Guidewire digital platform), and Functions (serverless extensions)*. For data and product work, Data Curation Assistant for Data Studio* converts plain language into precise SQL.

For Claims Professionals

Qusar introduces practical AI agents designed around daily workflows. Agentic First Notice of Loss (FNOL) handles intake calls, converting spoken details into structured records within Guidewire ClaimCenter. Claim Summarization for Guidewire ProNavigator** delivers clear, auditable file summaries and change histories allowing adjusters to make informed decisions without reading through long event logs. (This capability is now available for Guidewire InsuranceNow* users as well.)

Additionally, financial tracking upgrades include Deductible Recovery Handling, which allows users to apply policy deductibles via the recovery process in ClaimCenter, and Granular Salvage and Subrogation Tracking in InsuranceNow for more accurate reserve calculations.

For Pricing and Actuarial Teams

Price Optimization** in Guidewire PricingCenter allows actuaries to evaluate loss ratios, growth, and retention directly within their modeling environment before pushing rate updates into production. Impact Analysis** shows portfolio-wide effects before changes go live, ensuring there are no surprises. Meanwhile, Advanced Lookup Tables** pull complex rating rules into a single location to keep calculations consistent across all of your rating engines.

For Cyber Underwriters and Portfolio Managers

Guidewire Cyence Model 8 brings updated event data and refined financial calculations to your risk modeling. To give you consistent results across runs, loss estimates now execute against 100,000-year simulations instead of 10,000-year models. We have also added Data Enrichment to automatically fill in missing firmographic details on incoming submissions, and Full Assessment to deliver on-demand loss evaluations for any business size, from small merchants to large commercial enterprises.

For Underwriting and Policy Teams

Gain practical tools designed to speed up processing and protect core performance. Policy Change for ProNavigator* brings representatives, policyholders, and underwriters together to collect details and apply carrier guidelines with fewer steps. Rebind Transaction lets underwriters edit, re-rate, and re-bind bound-but-not-issued policies without the cancel-and-rewrite cycle, capturing negotiation history as they go. The Quoting Service handles asynchronous quoting across channels without slowing PolicyCenter, and High Volume Quoting* scales capacity for high-traffic aggregators. To help your team focus on high-value retention, the Renewal Insights Dashboard offers role-based pipeline views tailored to daily decision-making.

For Data Professionals

Four direct updates inside Data Studio to keep enterprise data accessible and clear. The Data Curation Assistant for Data Studio* turns plain language into precise SQL. Outbound Federation connects operational data directly to your lakehouse, the Data Lineage Canvas visually maps system dependencies, and Bulk Content Management allows teams to clone datasets and update pipelines without breaking downstream reports.

Regardless of your role, the Qusar release provides purposeful tools designed to help your organization operate efficiently and grow with confidence. We look forward to sharing our next set of updates with the Revelstoke release this winter.
