San Cristóbal Seguros, a leading insurer in Argentina with a history spanning over 85 years, recognized the need to adapt swiftly to the evolving demands of the post-pandemic market.

“Everything in the San Cristóbal product and service lifecycle is about improving the experience with clients and advisors through all-in-one digital toolsets,” explained Christian Blousson, Chief Marketing Officer.

Consumers today expect seamless customer service delivered through expansive digital toolsets, which posed a significant challenge in maintaining trust and loyalty among the company’s over 500,000 policyholders. Addressing these expectations required not only rapid feature launch capabilities but also an unwavering focus on enhancing the user experience.

Leveraging their relationship with Guidewire for over a decade, San Cristóbal made the move to InsuranceSuite on Guidewire Cloud, incorporating lines such as Accident and Health, Commercial Auto, and more. San Cristóbal began using Advanced Product Designer (APD) to migrate its recent acquisition of iúnigo, a 100% digital offering with a mobile app for checking automotive coverage. Over eight months, the team has migrated more than 5,000 iúnigo policies, and the number continues to grow.

The transition to Guidewire Cloud facilitated ease in launching new features across their ecosystem and enhancing product integration without the complexities of on-premises installations.

"When we decided to go to the cloud, one of the key factors was the agility that we could achieve with the constant updates that Guidewire provides,” said Federico Rela, Chief Information Officer. “Upgrades used to take between six and eight months. Today, in two weeks, we enjoy the benefits of updates without any type of incident and without needing special upgrade projects or large investments."

San Cristóbal realized a 500% improvement in quoting time, reducing it from roughly 10 minutes to just 2 minutes, while simultaneously decreasing infrastructure dependency by 50%. The transition to cloud also curtailed upgrade times from six to eight months down to merely two weeks. These enhancements enables them to process more than 60,000 daily quotes in half the previous time, significantly boosting their service capability.

The move to the cloud did not only optimize their operational efficiency, but also improved their adaptability to external economic pressures.
