Since its founding in 1912, Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company has become a leading provider of commercial property and casualty insurance solutions. This vision formed the foundation for a service-focused strategy that emphasized delivering value to agency partners and policyholders while fostering innovation and agility.
A Strategic Partnership with Guidewire
Amerisure’s journey with Guidewire began in 2015 with the migration to ClaimCenter, marking the company's first significant step toward evolving with technology. The success of ClaimCenter on-premises spurred an expanded partnership with Guidewire, leading to a broader transformation.
“We chose to partner with Guidewire, because it aligned with our vision for an insurance suite on our roadmap. We were building up our capabilities, and what came next was deploying those capabilities into business opportunities,” explained Al-Zoubi.
By 2023, Amerisure expanded further by migrating its on-premises installation of Guidewire ClaimCenter onto Guidewire Cloud. By 2025, the company successfully deployed Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter on Guidewire Cloud, starting with its Workers’ Compensation line of business. This shift enabled the company to modernize its systems for policy administration and billing management, setting the stage for continued innovation.
Real Results from Real Transformation
To ensure this innovation was resilient, Amerisure invested heavily in automated testing, building 3,000 regression tests that save the organization 8,000 hours annually. As Mohan Nadakuduti, Vice President for Guidewire Transformation, explains the value of this investment: “We’ve increased our automated test coverage from about 10% to almost 70%.” He added, “This means we can test faster, increase our test coverage, and generally deliver higher quality solutions.”
Modernizing Billing for Complex Growth
Building on the Workers' Compensation launch, Amerisure tackled one of its most complex process challenges: Loss Sensitive billing. Chelcee McGowan, Vice President Corporate Controller, describes the previous state of the credit and billing department as an unsustainable reliance on manual intervention.“In our previous legacy systems, we had a lot of manual processes.” She added, “It got to a point where it was not sustainable, and we’ve modernized that with Guidewire to provide accurate data in real time.” The transition to BillingCenter on Guidewire Cloud was a catalyst for strengthening policyholder service, transforming the company's manual invoicing cycle into a highly automated process.

Amerisure’s transformation is reinforced by a robust partner ecosystem and the Guidewire Marketplace. Nadakuduti emphasizes the strategic value: “The access to Marketplace is a valuable asset to Amerisure because of the depth and breadth of services that Guidewire offers.” He added, “It provides a head start and is enabling us to respond when there is a business need.”
Amerisure has integrated several key vendors through the marketplace:
- One Inc (Payments): Enables online electronic payment portals for both inbound and outbound transactions.
- Hi Marley (Communication): Leveraged to streamline communication with policyholders through seamless texting capabilities.
