Back for a second year, Guidewire DEVHack 2025 brought together the largest network of developers in the P&C industry for a high-impact virtual hackathon, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This year’s event gave developers the opportunity to showcase their skills, creativity, and technical expertise by building solutions to real-world industry challenges.
Teams competed for cash prizes, Guidewire education and certification vouchers, and the ultimate reward: a chance to present their winning solution live in the Demo Theater at Guidewire Connections 2025, in front of 3,000+ industry leaders, investors, and media.

A Record-Breaking Turnout
DEVHack 2025 saw over 200 team applications, up significantly from last year, with 40 teams selected to participate (that’s 15 more than 2024!). From June 2 to July 8, the teams developed and submitted innovative projects built in a developer environment provisioned with Guidewire InsuranceSuite utilizing the Mammoth release of Guidewire Cloud Platform.
Submissions included a working prototype, a written report, and a demo video. A panel of six expert judges evaluated all entries and selected the top 10 finalists, announced on July 22 and opened for public voting. Over the following 36 hours, the community cast a total of 11,921 votes!
The three winners were revealed in a live winner announcement webinar on July 24, determined by a combination of judges’ scores, and earned bonus points.

Announcing the Winners
Once finalists were announced, public voting opened on Tuesday, July 22 at 4:00 a.m. PST, and closed on Wednesday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m. PST. In the span of 36 hours, 11,921 votes were cast.
