U.K. company deploys Guidewire’s leading end-to-end claims system to enable business growth; project live within eight months

WALSALL England and SAN MATEO Calif. , August 08, 2007

Homeserve PLC, one of the United Kingdom’s leading providers of home emergency repair and claims management services and Guidewire Software®, a leading global provider of solutions to general insurance companies, today announced that Homeserve Claims Management is in production with Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its new claims management system. ClaimCenter supports all phases of the claims handling process for Homeserve Claims Management’s current and future emergency service solutions.

Homeserve’s rapid growth and the creation of a multi-trade (i.e. plumbing, property, etc.) repair service offering necessitated the need for a new and coordinated claims management system. Homeserve contracts its services to many of the UK’s biggest insurance companies, as well as direct to U.K consumers. In 2006, Homeserve Claims Management managed 650,000 repairs.

Guidewire ClaimCenter has been deployed initially to users in Homeserve’s Nottingham operations, enabling them to provide a full range of claims handling functionality to home owners and the company’s general insurance partners. Further phases of the rollout will result in over 1,000 users processing all claims handled by Homeserve by end 2008. ClaimCenter will be integrated into the company’s contact centres enabling a seamless, real-time view of the electronic claim file, providing significant process efficiencies, and supporting Homeserve’s uncompromising commitment to unsurpassed customer service. All customer interaction will feed through ClaimCenter with existing and future customers (both corporate and individual) serviced through the system.

Nick Capell, group IT director, Homeserve Emergency Services commented: “Guidewire ClaimCenter was successfully implemented in just under eight months. We are now in production with a state of the art, web-based claims system that will grow alongside our business, and will enable us to further improve the levels of service we provide our customers. The system will also improve process efficiency and will allow the business to tailor products and services for our clients and customers.”

Christopher Maddox, country manager, U.K. and Ireland, Guidewire Software said: “We are thrilled to have Homeserve as our first customer in production in the U.K. Homeserve clearly recognises the impact technology can have on its business growth and customer service capabilities.”
