Amica Mutual Insurance Company, the nation’s oldest mutual insurer of automobiles, and Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), provider of the industry platform Property and Casualty (P&C) insurers rely upon, today announced that Amica will leverage Guidewire InsurancePlatform™, delivered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution via Guidewire Cloud™. An early Guidewire customer since 2005, Amica originally selected InsurancePlatform applications as self-managed, on-premises deployments to modernize its technology infrastructure, transform how it operates, and ultimately enhance its customer service commitments. Migrating to Guidewire Cloud will enable Amica to adapt more quickly to changing market demands and free its IT team to deliver more value for policyholders.

Guidewire Cloud is powered by Amazon Web Services’ highly resilient cloud infrastructure, with SLAs backed by experienced Guidewire teams and SaaS-certified partners spanning application management, system administration, security and compliance, upgrades, QA testing, health checks, and other services. With Guidewire Cloud, insurers can focus on business agility, engaging more deeply with their customers and simplifying IT.

“The strong relationship we’ve developed with Guidewire over the years through the implementation of the various InsurancePlatform applications influenced our comfort level and decision to move to Guidewire Cloud,” said Peter Moreau, senior vice president and chief information officer, Amica. “It gave us the confidence that moving to Guidewire Cloud will help us further transform our business and continue our commitment to providing policyholders with the very best insurance products and services.”

Greg Calderiso, senior assistant vice president, Amica, said, “By staying current with InsurancePlatform, we’ll be able to leverage new features and functionalities quickly to grow our business and improve efficiency in our operations. Our business and technology staff won't have to focus on the effort and time that upgrade cycles can take to get the technology up-to-date, and our customer service representatives will no longer have to absorb large-scale system or platform changes, which typically come with a major upgrade and often disrupt and change worfklows.”

“Amica recognizes the advantages of running its business in the cloud,” said Steve Sherry, chief sales officer, Guidewire Software. “We are humbled by its vote of confidence in our cloud services capabilities and applaud its mission of putting customers first by providing the products and services that best respond to their needs in a time of accelerating change.”
