I’m proud to share Guidewire’s inaugural ESG Annual Report, which has been designed to increase transparency and accountability for our ESG efforts and to share our vision for the future. The report represents an important step forward in Guidewire’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance issues and gives stakeholders insight on how we’ll accomplish our goals.
This is just the start of our ESG journey — we’ve established baseline data to measure progress and started to lay the groundwork in the six focus areas under the ESG framework. Highlights of the report include:
Establishing an ESG taskforce consisting of C-level executives to help drive ESG strategy
Developing new employee programs such as “Work from (Almost) Anywhere in the World” in recognition of the new-normal of flexible and remote working arrangements after the pandemic
Advancing philanthropic efforts through the Guidewire Gives Back (GGB) program, which have seen a 21% increase in financial donations from fiscal year 2021 to 2022, resulting in a total of $1.5M
Establishing a three-year environmental roadmap that includes greenhouse gas (GHG) emission disclosures in fiscal years 2020 and 2021 along with 2030 climate goals for Scope 1 and 2 emissions
In conjunction with this ESG report, we’ve also published the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Report, which provides a more in-depth look at what we’ve done so far to build a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture.
Guidewire is committed to serving the P&C industry with cloud platform services that enable our customers to be more effective and innovative as well as to grow efficiently. However, to support the shared goal of creating positive and sustainable change, we’re looking at how our products and people can identify solutions that proactively leverage analytical insights to help minimize the impact of catastrophic weather events. Product sustainability is an emerging topic of importance, and we look forward to sharing more about this in future reports.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made. Our ESG journey is still in its early stages, and we acknowledge there’s much more work to be done. We look forward to continued and new partnerships with employees, customers, and other stakeholders to evolve our ESG efforts.
