Insurance Corporation of British Columbia Selects Guidewire Software for Claims Management

Guidewire ClaimCenter® to provide BC auto insurer with state-of-the-art claims platform to transform customer service and streamline claims handling capabilities

Guidewire Software, a leading provider of flexible core systems to property/casualty insurers, today announced that the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), a provincial Crown corporation and sole provider of universal compulsory auto insurance in BC, has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as its new end-to-end claims management system. ClaimCenter will help ICBC manage approximately 700,000 claims annually through its 24x7 Claims Contact Centre, its province-wide network of 38 claims centres, and through its various service providers across the province.

ICBC is committed to providing its customers with streamlined service through multiple touchpoints. Guidewire ClaimCenter will allow ICBC to increase the quality of communication with its customers, capture higher quality claim information reducing the need for multiple conversations, and to increase the transparency in the claim handling process.

  • Electronic claim files will provide a consolidated view of the customer’s claim and better collaboration opportunities amongst all involved parties; and

  • Streamlined claims handling capabilities for improved decision quality, consistency, and processing efficiencies.
