Insurtech startups are driving innovation in our industry. They are unhindered by carrier applications and culture, so they are able to swiftly target microsegments and deliver unique and streamlined customer experiences. In my first blog in this series, I shared the FinanceFox value proposition. Whether you learn, partner or compete with a disruptor, it’s always good to understand the landscape.
Who?
A virtual insurance agency. In 3 minutes, Insurify’s “super-agent” brain provides consumers with a real-time, personalized quote by instantly verifying customer data. Insurify works directly with over 30 insurance carriers to return relevant quote options. The prospect can then select a carrier to buy the quoted policy online, talk to an agent, or get an insurance consultation.
Their value proposition
Insurify provides consumers with options of how they want to quote. They offer a web quoting process and a Facebook Messenger quote process. They have integrated the comparison service with Facebook Messenger so that consumers can chat with Insurify's virtual agent on Facebook Messenger the same way they would when they call an agent.
According to Digital Insurance magazine, Facebook Messenger is increasingly a mobile communication platform of choice.
“People are spending more time messaging with their friends on the platform than actually texting. We know they are there, so we are enabling it as a platform.”
Snejina Zacharia, founder, Insurify
The opportunity
A number of large carriers are extending their channel presence by offering quotes through Insurify. By accessing prospects and policyholders via Messenger, carriers provide additional choice of channel to the policyholder.
In 2016, Insurify won the ACORD award for the most outstanding achievements in insurance innovation in the areas of technology, operations, and distribution channels. They certainly are one to watch.
