Senior Business Architect

As an Architect, you are a trusted Guidewire leader across Guidewire’s most complex customer implementations. You’ll guide overall solution strategy, lead architectural governance, and ensure delivery success by aligning client goals with scalable, maintainable Guidewire solutions.

You will act as a cross-functional thought partner—working closely with Engagement Managers, customer executives, developers, and product teams. Your experience and influence will shape critical decisions, drive technical standards, and support continuous improvement across projects.

This is a key role for someone who excels in architecture, leadership, and building confidence with stakeholders across large-scale, enterprise programs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Business Architecture

  • Ace Certified in more than one Product and knowledgeable on how all the products interact

  • Sets project or team-based standards for requirements definition and design, then advises on their application and ensures compliance

  • Investigates and implements tools, techniques, and processes for managing configuration and requirements items and verifies that related information is complete, current, and accurate

  • Runs elaboration sessions to capture requirements beyond InsuranceSuite such as data, reporting, analytics, forms, integrations, etc.

  • Defines requirements and validates specifications that leverage Guidewire Products and technology to meet customer business objectives

  • Leverages AI tools to drive productivity improvements and drives innovation in the application of AI to enhance the delivery of Guidewire’s products and services

Business Consulting Leadership and Governance

  • Act as Guidewire lead for a functional / technical workstream

  • Provide mentorship and oversight to BA team members, ensuring alignment with base functionality

  • Review and approve requirements definitions

  • Ensure alignment of requested enhancements with customer business goals

  • Anticipate application risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies

  • Support Guidewire and customer teams in troubleshooting complex system issues

Strategic Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer business and leadership teams

  • Present proposed solutions and roadmaps to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence

  • Support pre-sales and proposal efforts by reviewing alignment of the proposed solution to the customer’s value proposition

  • Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Cloud teams to resolve product questions and surface roadmap needs

Internal Impact and Enablement

  • Contribute to internal architecture standards, playbooks, and reusable solution assets

  • Mentor junior Architects and help develop business architecture leadership across the PS organisation

  • Participate in business architecture forums and knowledge-sharing sessions across regions

  • Represent Professional Services in cross-functional strategic initiatives or internal pilots

  • Architectural Excellence – Solutions that maximize use of base functionality while meeting business goals across large or complex programs

  • Stakeholder Confidence & Influence – Trusted advisor status with clients, evidenced by positive feedback and solution adoption

  • Delivery Support & Risk Mitigation – Reduced delivery issues due to effective oversight and early risk identification

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in enterprise software business architecture, with relevant delivery experience

  • German language skills

  • Deep expertise in Guidewire implementation experience and product functionality (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter)

  • Proven ability to define business application solutions across multiple workstreams or regions

  • Demonstrated ability to develop requirements that maximize use of base functionality

  • Effective communicator with customer program management, architects, and development teams

  • Proficiency in Agile delivery and hybrid cloud implementation strategies

  • Involvement in pre-sales, including reviewing value delivery of proposed solution

  • Ability to lead and inspire others through collaboration

  • Travel for onsite client engagements as required (up to 50%).

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Multiple Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter BA)

  • Experience leading requirements definition for a track of Guidewire Cloud Products

  • Expertise in Guidewire Cloud Products

  • Knowledge of insurance enterprise systems and core domain processes

  • Experience leading digital transformation or cloud migration programs

  • Contributions to internal frameworks, accelerators, or best practice assets

  • Prior experience mentoring architects or building internal communities of practice

  • Relevant industry certification or formal learning certificated in either business analysis or business architecture (CBAP, CBA etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of insurance domain concepts and workflows
